About this Blog

My name is Regan Ross and this is my “Making Education Meaningful” blog. I am a high school educator, the founder of Action-Ed, and the creator/author of The Civic Mirror education program.

What I want to do with this blog is share as many relevant and useful ideas, insights, and examples on how to make teaching and learning fun, exciting, and meaningful as I possibly can. Education is in the midst of a massive transformation – the teaching/learning traditions of the 20th Century traditions are being challenged by more and more new technologies and methodologies every day. I want to be a part of this transformation.

Specifically, though, I want to focus on ensuring that we always remember to make education meaningful in the minds of our students. If we don’t this – if we pursue a path that doesn’t excite the curious and creative and ambitious sides of our students – then we’re ultimately failing them as teachers, professors, administrators, policy-makers, and parents … betraying our best intentions to improve teaching and learning in the process.

I hope you enjoy this blog!

Regan.
